8th Grade Regional Win!
First round regional action held at LaHarpe on March 6 would find number one seed LaHarpe facing the number 4 seed Hamilton. Ashlin Pollock, first server of the game reeled off 9 straight points before losing the ball to Hamilton on a net serve.
Jenna Ourth, back row player, stepped in with 6 service points, while Marissa Brown and Kristi Ide split 6. Keely Sparrow and Cortney Reed put 2 and 1 points on the board for the Eagles.
From the attack line, middle hitters Madison Beals and Kelli Burr pounded a total of 10 kills at the Cardinal defense, while Marissa Brown, and Keely Sparrow attacked 3.
Setter, Lisa Irish also had a kill from the 10 foot line.
Lisa Irish and Ashlin Pollock assisted the hitters with 6 and 4 set assists. The final score of the game was 15-0, 15-1.
The win against the Cardinals would place the Eagles in the championship bracket against the Warsaw, Bobcats.
Once again good serving from Ashlin Pollock and Jenna Ourth was the key to winning the match. Pollock placed 15 points on the home score, while Ourth added 13.
Cortney Reed was close behind Ourth and Pollock with an impressive 10 service points. 7th grader, Claire McKee stepped up to the serving line to finish the game with point number 14 and 15 and the Regional title!
Offensively, 7th grader Carlie Wear was on fire with 8 kills.
Marissa Brown was close behind Wear with 6. Lisa Irish, Cortney Reed, Keely Sparrow, and Hannah Brown put one kill in Bobcat territory.
The hitters were assisted by Lisa Irish's 12 assists, while Ashlin Pollock had 6.
The Eagles cinched the Regional title for the second year straight with scores of 10-15, 15-11, 15-4.
