7th Grade Team Wins Regional and Sectional!

The 7th grade volleyball team traveled to Warsaw to compete in the Regional tournament. Top seeded La Harpe would take on 4th seed, Hamilton.

The Eagles came out strong in the first game and didn't let up the rest of the night, defeating the Cardinals with scores of 15-4, 15-1.

Jenna Anderson led the way with an impressive 8 service points, while 6th graders, Lindsey Pollock and Haeli Johnson stepped in for the Eagles with 7 and 6 points.

Claire McKee, Genessa Cox and Hannah Brown added 4, 3 and 2 points to the scoreboard.

Middle hitter, Hannah Brown could not be stopped from the attack line, with a total of 10 kills and 2 blocks. Outside hitter, Megan Poulter dominated the front row, with 5 kills and 2 blocks.

Other middle hitter, Carlie Wear pounded 3 at the defense. Jenna Anderson and Julie Anderson sent one kill each to Bobcat defense.

The hitters were assisted by Claire McKee's 9 assists and Gretchen Blythe's 3.

Defeating Hamilton put the Eagles in the championship game to be played after the 2nd and 3rd seeded teams battled each other to see who would play La Harpe for the title. Warsaw would be the Eagles' next opponent.

Anyone attending the championship game knew the Eagles came to play ball and take home a first place trophy!

Genessa Cox's 9 service points helped cinch the win against Warsaw with scores of 15-4, 15-0.

Jenna Anderson, Claire McKee and Lindsey Pollock split 18 points evenly, while Hannah Brown added 3 to the board. The Bobcats didn't stand a chance defensively with front row hitters Hannah Brown, Megan Poulter and Carlie Wear up at the net.

The hitters were on fire and couldn't be stopped by Warsaw. As soon as the defense recovered from one hit, La Harpe would pound another one at them. Hannah Brown came away with a total of 6 kills, while Carlie Wear was close behind with 5.

Megan Poulter creamed 2 at the defense. Setters, Claire McKee and Gretchen Blythe were responsible for so many attacks, with 8 and 7 set assists.

The volleyball Eagles traveled to Mendon Unity for the sectional game on Monday, March 4th. La Harpe defeated the Colts with scores of 15-8 and 15-4, giving the Eagles a sectional title and a first-time trip to the state tournament held at Pawnee High School on March 9. The Eagles will be playing at 4:15 p.m.
