After graduating Moore High School in Farmer City he attended Ilinois State University, where he received his Bachelor of Science Degree with a Major in Agriculture and a Minor in Industrial Technology.
For nine years he farmed and worked at a farm equipment dealership, before attending Asbury Theological Seminary in Wilmore, Kentucky, receiving a Master of Divinity Degree.
In l986 he began serving churches, the first churches being Woodland and Crescent City. For one year Pastor Dennis Brooks then served as Chaplain at Carle Hospital and later he served the three churches of Bath, Chandlerville and Fairview, before coming to La Harpe in July l995.
Currently Pastor Dennis Brooks serves La Harpe, Durham and Terre Haute Methodist Churches, but he also has time for some hobbies which include photography, travel and especially natural parks and settings, as well as antique farm equipment. -Gloria Snyder-Quill
