Booster Club Benefit A Success

By Sara Ford

Working hard in the heat, the Stronghurst Booster Club had a very successful Steak Fry on June 8th.

The Booster Club successfully raised $1800 toward matching the Park Grant of $70,000 to improve the park. $35,000 is needed to match the grant.

The success was due in part to the great help and hard work. Don Moeller was known as chief steak chef for the day, with Mark Parrish and Ross Mesecher being his assistants.

Finances were kept in order by Jerry Keimig and Chuck Vaughn while 50/50 tickets were being sold by Sue Lyons.

Beverages were kept cold and the salads kept fresh by Tanya Robinson and Yvonne Knapp, along with Dick and Marlene Knutstrom and Bob and Carol Dillon.

Lori Taylor and Kim Gullberg served the special baked beans from chef Don and his equally talented wife Marcia Moeller. Potatoes were served by Ed Symmonds and Delmar Jacobs, who also helped bake all 200 of them!

Tony Griepentrog and Art Kane were known as servers that day while Jim Blender and Pauline Oge manned the bread.

Not to forget dessert, many of the fine ladies of the community donated brownies. Diana and Kris Beals, along with Sherry Gullberg, served those fine desserts to all of the supporters.

Eric and Peggy Chockley, Joni Dillard, and Kay Griepentrog also deserve a pat on the back for taking care of a great game area for the kids.

Last but not least, Gary Bechtel provided the great music for everyone to enjoy.

Support from the MST Fire Department, Don Crandall, and the Sheriff's posse is also appreciated.
