The Hancock-Henderson Quill, Inc.
Robert Baumann, Regional Superintendent of Schools for Hancock and McDonough Counties received a petition filed May 28, 2002 from the Committee of Ten representing the school districts of Colchester, LaHarpe, Northwest and Roseville requesting a proposition to form a new community unit school district.
The petition also requests proposition to build and equip an addition to the Northwestern Junior/Senior High School and to issue bonds in the amount of $7,900,000 to pay the cost of the building, and provides for the election of board members by election districts rather than at large. This proposition requests that these issues be submitted to the voters at the election held November 5, 2002.
A public hearing on this petition will be conducted on Wednesday, June 26, 2002 at 6:00 p.m. in the gym of the Northwestern Junior/Senior High School in Sciota. Any resident in the districts affected may appear at the hearing and present testimony either in support or opposition to the petition.
