The Broadway Cafe and the Stronghurst Grain Elevator were broken into on Monday night or early Tuesday morning.
At the Broadway Cafe, the back door had been pried open, to gain entry. The break-in was discovered at 5:20 a.m. when an employee arrived for work.
Taken was the cash register drawer, which has been recovered, according to Henderson County Sheriff Mark Lumbeck. Also taken was candy and gum and the contents of the building were left in disarray.
A door was forced open to gain entry at the Stronghurst Grain Elevator where less than $50 was taken according to Dan Bowman.
Sheriff Lumbeck said there had also been a break-in at the Lomax Senior Citizens Building.
