Warm and Entertaining Variety Show Enjoyed by Many at Summerfest

The weather was warm and the entertainment was enjoyable Wednesday, July 24, at Summerfest 2002.

The Girl Scouts presented the colors and Larry Jones was Master of Ceremonies.

Melissa Burt sang the National Anthem and prayer was given by Dennis Brooks of the Methodist Churches in the area.

Larry Jones made announcements to the audience of events that were to take place during Summerfest.

Then, he introduced our entertainment for the evening which was a Variety Show featuring various ages and talents.

Several dancing acts, all very good I might add, performed with some lovely costumes. Vocal selections such as "Harper Valley PTA," "Because You Love Me," "Thank You," and "We Danced."

Three young boys did sign language to "What a Wonderful World."

We enjoyed the show and appreciation goes to Dianne Balmer and all who helped her.

A BBQ supper was served to around 135 by the American Legion.

Winners for the evening drawings were: Doris St. Clair, Rita Siegworth, Marilyn Jackson, Glen Gleason, and Georgeanna Fowler.
