The Hancock-Henderson Quill, Inc.
At the recent Henderson County Fair 4-H Livestock Auction, several Raritan businesses pooled their money together to bid on the livestock raised and cared for by area 4-Hers who had shown them at the fair.
Above is Samantha Arnold of the Media Achievers and her steer, "Chocolate." Chocolate weighed over one-half ton at 1144 lbs. (a ton is 2000 lbs.) The group were also highest bidders for Dalton Brokaw's calf, "Sonny" which was advertised as having "the largest ribeye."
The group wanted to help these young people and the Cooperative Extension Foundation. They were Thompson Insurance, Hopson Sales, Wisslead Oil, Raritan State Bank, and Southern Transportation.
Thirty-seven 4-Hers sold steers, hogs, and sheep at auction to gain them some profit for their hard work.
