Master of Ceremony, Larry Jones brought the audience up to date on events taking place. He introduced C. J. Balding who sang the National Anthem, Louis Balding gave the prayer and the American Legion presented the colors.
Larry introduced the Country Travelers as our entertainment for the evening. Marvin Miles, guitar and vocalist; Rollie Hammond, bass; Roger Miller, steel guitar; Dan Blakey, lead guitar and vocalist; and Mike Rodbeck, drummer.
These gentlemen played and sang "old country" songs that were enjoyed by all. Several comments were made to me on how well the band was liked.
Thursday night fish supper was served to around three hundred and thirty by the LaHarpe Fire Department and members
Winners were Evelyn Parrish, Kathryn Glisan, Jane Mohr, Rusty Palmer and Boyd Palmer. Bill Burt won the $100.00 gift certificate given by the Golden Rule Club. Donna Grisham won the 50/50 drawing which was $125.00.
