In July 1971, he married his classmate, the former Joanna Johnson.
They are parents of Jarrold and Megan, both of Chicago.
Barry has been in the auto body business for thirty years. He purchased the body shop from his father, Glenn, when he retired in 1993.
Barry and Joanna both like to go to antique shows.
If he has any spare time, Barry likes to golf. He is currently President of the La Harpe Park Board.
