Moment In History

Isaac Crenshaw was born in Georgia and then moved to Tennessee.

From there he migrated to Adams County, Illinois and then to Iowa. Three years later he returned to Illinois settling in Bedford Precinct.

Indians still roamed the area and Mrs. Crenshaw oft times recounted seeing them while in the timber making sugar.

Today, we casually pluck a 4 lb. sack of sugar from the grocery shelf forgetting the time when pioneers had to tap sugar maple and make their own.
