Raiders Defeat The Suns

Southern 8th grade boys returned to action to face the Southeastern Suns. After ten days since winning the Sand Valley Tourney, the Raiders were back in action.

The lay-off between games seemed to show as the Raiders could not get going.

The first quarter was very evenly played by both teams. The Raiders managed to lead by a score of 7 to 6.

In the second quarter, the Raiders still struggled to get going. As the teams went to the half time, the Raiders extended the lead 19 to 14.

The third quarter was all Southeastern. The Raiders managed only two points the entire quarter. They fell behind by one late in the quarter. They scored their only basket at the end of the quarter to lead by a 21 to 20 score.

With the game on the line to start the fourth, the Raiders finally began to play. Out scoring the Suns 18 to 4 in the period, the Raiders pulled away for the Victory.

The final score, Southern 39 and Southeastern 24. This was not one of the Raiders better games, however, they managed to get the win.

Abe Chockley led the Raiders with 11 points, 3 steals, and 1 assist. Abe sparked the Raiders with some good hustle and key baskets.

Darick Clark scored 9 points, had 7 steals, and 1 assist. Darick's steals led to several Raider baskets.

Jerry Morris had 7 points and 4 rebounds. Kyle Keever scored 4 points, had 7 rebounds and 3 steals.

Kyle did an excellent job rebounding and played some great defense. Adam Corzatt netted 4 points with 2 assists, 2 rebounds, and a steal.

He also had a good game defensively. Jacob Gillen finished the scoring with 4 points and had 3 steals.
