The Dallas City Council held its regular meeting on December 12th 2001 with Mayor Lila Gittings conducting the meeting.
Commissioners present were: Nick Huston, Harold Northup, Jr., Esther Newberry, and John Pieper. Others attending were Lyle Terry, Chris Classen, and Rod Clark.
In discussing the Legion project, Lyle Terry said the stones have been ordered.
Anyone interested in a name on a stone should contact Lyle. The Legion is in hopes of having everything done by Memorial Day.
Chris Classen discussed proposed new contract with TEST.
A motion made by Newberry, seconded by Pieper was approved to accept a 5 year contract beginning 1/1/02 for the management and supervision of the waste water treatment plant, lift stations, and water treatment plant.
The water hydrants on the new water line were discussed. Work on these is expected to begin next week. The pressure reducing valve has been purchased and installed for the new water line.
Rod discussed Fisher properties and the building on the corner at the 4-way stop.
Harold discussed possibility of creating a wetland area by the sewer lagoon.
Christmas light sensors were also discussed. Nick discussed web site information.
