The Merriment of Christmas with music and children filled the Southern Elementary gymnasium Tuesday afternoon, December 17th.
Students from Kindergarten through 4th grade performed beginning with the youngest.
Stealing the hearts of the audience, Kindergarten Students stood on risers to sing out loudly - IT MUST BE SANTA!
They followed with THE SNOWMAN, and then were passed out bells to aid in their selection - JINGLE BELLS.
With equal enthusiasm, the First Graders lined on the risers with several youngsters in front missing one or two of their front teeth. and yes, the sang, ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS IS MY TWO FRONT TEETH. They followed with RING THOSE BELLS, and RUDOLPH, THE RED NOSED REINDEER.
Second Graders then sang three selections: WE WISH YOU A MERRY CHRISTMAS, I SAW 3 SHIPS, and A TIME FOR LOVE.
Third Graders sang JOY TO THE WORLD, PAT-A-PAN, and THE SLEIGH.
When it was the the Fourth Graders turn, three students performed piano solos between their selections. Amanda Schneider played O Come All Ye Faithful, Ethan Lafary played We 3 Kings, and Mary Brokaw played Joy To The World.
The 4th grade class sang THE TWELVE DAYS OF CHRISTMAS, DALE, DALE, DALE, and WINTER FANTASY.
The students K thru 4 concluded their concert in unison with WE WISH YOU A MERRY CHRISTMAS.
Mrs. Dennis (Joann) Hilligoss conducted the musical.
