Rebels Defense Shuts Down Bushnell

By Jay Blender, Rebel Varsity Head Coach

The Rebels traveled to Bushnell on December 10th and defeated a 5-1 Bushnell team by the score of 57-26. Bushnell only made seven field goals in the game as the pressure defense applied by the Rebels shut down a very good team.

The defense got rolling in the second quarter as it created numerous turnovers that led to many easy baskets for the Rebels.

The Rebels offense has not hit full stride at this early stage of the season.

With some adjustments made this season, the team is working to improve and become an offense that can hit on all cylinders.

Offensively, the Rebels shot a respectable 47% on the night from the field and 71% from the free throw line.

Scoring:

Christopher Wisslead 16, Matt Kane 10, Nick Morris 7, Quinn Leath 7, Matthew McIntire 6, Dan Morrison 5, Nathan Corzatt 4, Brandon Rothzen 2

Steals: Dan Morrison 7, Christopher Wisslead 4, Quinn Leath 3

Assists: Dan Morrison 6

Rebounds: Quinn Leath 6,  Christopher Wisslead 5,  Nathan Corzatt 5

This was a total team win as all players contributed to the win.

This week the Rebels are playing in the Roseville Tourney and then after Christmas they play at the Western Holiday Tournament in Macomb on December 26-28.
