The Hancock-Henderson Quill, Inc.
The La Harpe Elementary Christmas program was held with lots of merriment on Thursday, December 12, 2002 at 1:00 p.m. in the High School Gymnasium.
A large audience of parents, grandparents and friends attended.
The students performed "The Christmas Circus," written by Sondra Mosley.
The question asked in the musical was: "Will Santa Find the Children Who Travel With the Circus?"
The play was about children who travel from town to town with the circus. It told of their worries that Santa might not be able to find them to leave their presents.
The circus show included Pre-K to 4th grades with the children all dressed in circus costumes.
Even though it was Christmas, the show must go on, so the circus band began playing lively music as every child performed.
Children were tumbling, using hoola hoops and pogosticks, walking on stilts and performing other tricks for the audience.
As the circus is closed down for the night after the final performance, Santa does arrive.
Santa comes to the sound of singing and the ringing of jingle bells...and the children singing- "Here Comes Santa Claus!"
It was a great job by all!
