The Rebels opened the season with two victories over Warren 76-35 and Hamilton 64-38.
Both victories were at home and were results of great pressure defense applied by the Rebels. This Rebel team is quick and very talented at both ends of the floor.
In the Warren game the Rebels got off to a slow start and fell behind 3-0. Warren's lead did not last long as the Rebel shots started to fall.
In the second quarter the Rebels poured in 31 points. May of these baskets resulted from Warren turnovers and led to easy baskets for the Rebels.
The half time score was Rebels 44, Warren 14.
The second half was much the same as the Rebels cruised to victory. Leading scorers were Christopher Wisslead with 24, Quinn Leath 15, Dan Morrison 8 and Brandon Rothzen 8.
Leading rebounders with 5 each were Nathan Corzatt, Christopher Wisslead and Brandon Rothzen. Leader in assists were Dan Morrison with 5 and James Dye with 4.
On December 5th a very good Hamilton team visited the Rebels and quickly discovered that the Rebels meant business.
Hamilton has three starters returning from last year's regional championship team and are a very talented team.
The Rebel defense set the tone for the game as every shot, pass and rebound was contested.
The Rebel offense had balanced scoring and a very good field goal percentage of 55% for the game.
Scoring for the Rebels, Quinn Leath 14, Matt Kane 11, Nick Morris 11, Nathan Corzatt and Dan Morrison 7, Christopher Wisslead 6, Matthew McIntire 4, Jason Mynatt and Brandon Rothzen 8.
Leading rebounders were Quinn Leath 6 and Nick Morris 4.
Dan Morrison led in assists with 7 and Christopher Wisslead with 6.
The Rebels are 2-0 on the season and play Bushnell on December 10th at Bushnell and then at home vs. Union on December 13th.
