The Village of Biggsville board members met in regular session Wednesday, April 21 with President Janet Monville presiding and the following present:
Trustees- Marilyn Evans, Bob Onion, and Mike West. Clerk- Frank Jones.
Absent- Trustees Mark Blindt, Daryl Forbes, and Tony Patlan, and Treasurer Gloria Jones.
Visitors- Lou Boyer.
President Janet Monville opened the meeting by leading the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag.
After roll call and minutes, and treasurer's report was read by Clerk Frank Jones and approved, bills were ordered paid.
Bob Onion reported that the lights at the ballpark need to be replaced. Bob will check with Mark Blindt on ordering the required replacements.
President Janet Monville reported the edge of the street by the Harland Goff property had large ruts and needs tended to.
Bob Onion moved the Village level, seed, and barricade the area for the grass to grow like it was, seconded by Marilyn Evans. Roll was called and all present voted Yes. Mike West will instruct Jeff Lant on what the Village wants done.
Mike West reported the Village has ordered the 6' x 10' trailer.
West reported on the water main break at Washington and Valley. The "T" connection was broke. West suggested the Village order spare parts and the tools to have on hand in case of another break.
President Janet Monville reported that Gertrude Bishop doesn't want the water line to go through her driveway when constructing the loop between Valley and Water streets. The Village will work with Mrs. Bishop on this issue.
President Janet Monville reported the Zoning Board is reviewing ordinances.
President Janet Monville reported the Village had received the six month contract from REC Recycling for emptying the recycle bin.
President Janet Monville reported the Telephone Company wants to install some new telephone boxes west of the Village maintenance shed.
These boxes will be used for upgrading 911 reporting for this area.
Lou Boyer reported that she has not heard from the BNSF railroad and has turned this matter over to her attorney to contact the railroad.
Clerk Frank Jones reminded the Board that it is time for the fiscal year budget and ask for projects to be considered in the budget.
The ballpark restroom project was discussed. The cost may be a factor and other options were discussed using the existing structure. Bob Onion will contact the Lions Club and ask for their input on ideas.
The next regular meeting will be Wednesday, May 1, 2002 at 7 p.m. at the Biggsville Community Building. Meeting adjourned at 9:15 p.m.
