Dallas City Board Discusses Web Site Names; Approves Use Of Motor Fuel Tax

The Dallas City Council held its regular meeting on Wednesday, April 10, 2002 at 7:00 p.m. Mayor Lila Gittings called the meeting to order with the following Commissioners present: Nick Huston, Harold Northup, Jr., Esther Newberry, and John Pieper.

Others attending the meeting were Chris Classen and Rod Clark.

Chris Classen gave the council a copy of a letter he had sent to the Illinois EPA showing that the City had complied with their request.

Board members discussed tax abatement on water and sewer bounds.

They also discussed the water main in Willow Beach area.

If a 4" main is run to the Sell and Markham properties there is an ordinance requiring everyone within 200 feet to hook onto the line.

A motion was made by Huston, seconded by Pieper to pay the Senior Citizens $450.00 for rent for the year. Huston, Northup, Newberry, Pieper, and Gittings-Aye.

Harold Northup, Jr. discussed web site names for the city.

A motion was made by Pieper, seconded by Northup to allow up to $200.00 for permits for registration for the web site. All approved in a roll call vote.

Board members discussed the guard rail that is by the clinic that is in bad shape. The City will check with Santa Fe railroad to see who owns this.

A motion was made by Pieper, seconded by Northup to pass a resolution for the use of Motor Fuel Tax in the amount of $40,000.00. All approved.

The bills were approved paid and the minutes of the March 27, 2002 meeting were approved. The meeting was adjourned at 8:25 p.m.
