LaHarpe Council Seats City's First Student Alderman

Darcie Palmer was introduced and seated as the first LaHarpe High School student alderman. The student alderman will serve until the end of the school year and will be included in various council committees. Darcie will be giving the school a report of her involvement with the council.

Dave Schaab, a representative of Waste Management, spoke to the council about the changes resulting from Waste Management purchasing Sutton Disposal.

The new water hook up rate will be increased from $50 to $100 effective on April 1.

The annual citywide yard sale will be May 31 through June 1. The new contact person is Bonnie Chapin.

It was voted and passed to give a donation to the high school post prom.

The city burn pile will be open again on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
