Meet your neighbor, La Harpe resident, Ty Coulter.

Ty and his family moved from Phoenix, Arizona to La Harpe last fall.

His parents, Paul and Sheri (McKee) Coulter are retired and moved to La Harpe in December.

Ty was born in Flagstaff, Arizona and raised in Phoenix. He graduated in 2002 from Camelback High School. He earned his Bachelor's degree in 2006 from Grand Canyon University and his Master's degree from Northern Arizona University in 2012, all in Phoenix.

Before moving to La Harpe, Ty was a PE/Health teacher and varsity baseball coach at North High School in Phoenix.

He is currently a PE/Health teacher, baseball and basketball coach, and the athletic director at Nauvoo-Colusa Jr. High.

Ty married his wife, Brenda, in 2004 and she is a stay at home mom.

Brenda was born in St. Joseph, Missouri and raised in Glendale, Arizona (a suburb of Phoenix).

They have three children, Sarah (age 9), Tyson (age 7), and Jacob (age 3).

A family tradition they have is taking a "special trip" for their kids when they turn 5. Sarah went to Disneyland and Tyson went to Legoland.

Ty's grandparents are Janet McKee of La Harpe and Nancy Coulter of New Boston.

He has one sibling, Heath Coulter, who recently moved to Chesapeake, Virginia.

Ty's hobbies include fishing, card games, video games, board games and slow pitch softball which he played year round in Phoenix.
